Owner of OCR

Chris Krause

Chris Krause, owner of OCR, has been an avid outdoorsman his entire life. He grew up hunting the Katy prairie, the river bottoms, the toughest sloughs, and the Gulf Coast.

His lifetime of chasing waterfowl sparked his passion to become a dog trainer and shaped his understanding of what is desired and required in the field with your dog.

The ultimate goal is to have an excited dog that loves to hunt and have the dog’s passion be visibly seen with each retrieve.

Experience

Chris purchased his first yellow Labrador puppy, “Boss,” in mid 2008 and quickly realized this was exactly what he was meant to do. He bought and read every book and video on the market, joined several local training clubs, and began training every friend’s dog just to practice what he had learned.

By 2009 Chris had earned certifications from Animal Behavior College and Penn Foster Career School in their respective animal behavior and training curriculums.

In early 2011, Chris began his apprenticeship under legendary retriever trainer Steve Hendricks, owner of Hendricks Kennels.

By 2012 Chris had earned the title and role of Hendricks’ first Kennel Manager & Lead Trainer. During his time there he personally trained over 2,500 dogs ranging from obedience to the most advanced Master Hunters
